Home Life

For those of you who do not know, I have a 6 month baby boy, and I am currently on maternity leave
Time is definately flying by... .he's changed so much throughout the months. He recently turned 6 months and we are having so much fun with him at this stage for so many reasons.... he's more interactive and he's starting solids!

We started him off with rice cereal last month and he absolutely loved it... infact he prefers that over having his milk (which meant more work for my husband and I to get him to finish his bottle! :)

Along with consulting with my baby's peditrician, I have also been reading a couple of books by Anabel Karmel (present from a good friend of mine) on baby weaning. The first one is a complete meal planner (SO HELPFUL) for babies and toddlers, and the second book is all about a variety of purees you can  make for your baby.

I am looking into getting a few more of her books so I'll keep you guys posted.

I introducted rice cereal when he was 5 months... he really loves the taste and gets so excited when he sees his baby bowl coming towards him.
As soon as he turned 6 months, my husband and I decided that introducing fruits (bananas and apples) would be ok... and again, he loves them both. This past weekend I decieded to puree some carrots and see how that would go... unfortunately, that didn't go as well as I would have hoped.
We tried it again just yesterday and again didn't have any luck... so carrots are a  no go for the time being.

Next on my list to introduce are pears. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will like hem.

I've also been mixing some of the pureed fruit in with his ceral but he enjoys it on his own too.

Until next time...

Mehreen
